After suffering difficulties with postpartum depression after her first child’s birth by emergency cesarean, Kerstin was determined to try for a VBAC. Along the way, she convinced the hospital to agree to change their normal policy of separating mother and baby after surgery, just in case she had another c-section.

Maternity fashion in Thailand traditionally runs to smock dresses, often with decorated with pink bunnies and such. Maternity pants are virtually unheard of (in fact, I occasioned some concern among my Thai colleagues and friends when I continued to wear pants well into my third trimester). However, in Bangkok, at least, there are more and more places you can find stylish maternity wear.
