Taking medications while breastfeeding. If you are prescribed medication, be sure to tell your doctor you are breastfeeding and ask if it is ok for you. Even so, it’s always worth checking again yourself – you can find more information about which drugs and dosages are safe for lactating mothers here (site run by the U.S. Government National Library of Medicine).
